American Music Abroad organizes group musical performance tours to Europe.

ADULT TOURS

In 2010, American Music Abroad will have one tour for alumni or interested adults.

The History Tour of Italy and Switzerland will travel from Sunday, October 3rd through Saturday, October 16th. During a beautiful time of year that is just outside the peak tourist season, enjoy the beauty of the Swiss Alps on the shores of serene Lake Lugano. See the Leaning Tower of Pisa, visit the Renaissance riches housed throughout the beautiful city of Florence and visit the ancient hill towns of Assisi and Orvieto nestled in central Italy. Your tour strives to blend big city sights and attractions with breathtaking quiet towns. Continue on to explore the Amalfi Coast, one of Italy's most beautiful resort areas. A hydrofoil ride transports you to the island of Capri, where you will have the afternoon to explore the ancient villas or famous caves. The guided sightseeing tour in Pompeii opens a window to daily life in 79 AD. The tour concludes with three days in Rome to see the ancient Roman Forum, the Pantheon, Colosseum and the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican.

The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble & Friends Tour will travel to the Prague, Czech Republic, Budapest, Hungary and Eisenstadt, Austria from July 24, 2011 to August 3, 2011. See Prague Castle, stroll across the famed Charles Bridge, dine accompanied by the music of Gypsy musicians, view a Puszta cowboy exhibition, tour the Royal Palace at Gödöllö, cruise along the Danube River, visit a 1000-year-old Benedictine Abbey and tour the palace where Joseph Haydn was resident composer.
