American Music Abroad

American Music Abroad was founded in 1975 by a high school band director and his wife to fulfill their dream of sharing their love of Europe with high school students, college students and adults.

American Music Abroad has proudly organized more than 350 international music tours, bringing the joy of performance to over 40,000 participants across Western Europe. In 2022, the program became part of Peak Group Travel, ensuring the continuation and growth of this rich legacy for years to come.

Each tour is carefully designed to maximize both cultural and educational experiences. A full-time, experienced tour escort accompanies every group, providing exceptional support and ensuring a seamless, enjoyable journey from start to finish.

July 2024 was profoundly life changing. I had the honor of conducting the choir for the Empire Tour with American Music Abroad. It was my first time working with this company and the first time I had ever been to Europe. I had known about AMA for quite some time and was aware of the amazing opportunities it offered young musicians, but to be a PART of it was something entirely different altogether. The organization - both behind the scenes with AMA and the work that was done by our lead directors - BLEW ME AWAY! I have been in charge of countless field trips, and this was a well-oiled machine!
