Independent travel to Berry College in Mt. Berry, Georgia for pre-tour orientation sessions.  Three days of intensive rehearsals culminate in a Farewell Concert for family and friends on the evening of June 11th.

Wednesday, June 12 – UNITED STATES – ROME

Morning recording sessions.  Afternoon transfer to Atlanta International Airport for transatlantic flights to Europe.

Thursday, June 13 – ROME

Afternoon arrival in the ancient city of Rome. The city, whose history dates back over 2500 years, was the center of the Roman Empire, a focus of art in the Renaissance and today is the thriving capital of Italy. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Friday, June 14 – ROME

On your guided tour of the ancient capital, view the 1900-year-old Pantheon, the Roman Forum, where Julius Caesar addressed the Roman senators, and Palatine Hill, where the Imperial Palace overlooked ancient Rome. On your afternoon tour of the Colosseum, stand where Romans watched countless gladiators, beasts and others “entertain” the masses. This evening’s dinner includes musical entertainment.  Overnight in Rome.

Saturday, June 15 – ROME

Morning visit to Vatican City to see St. Peter’s Basilica and square. Time this afternoon to explore and shop. Tonight, perform your first European concert! Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Sunday, June 16 – ITALIAN SPA TOWN

Journey north through the Italian countryside.  Final destination, a spa town just outside of Venice. Free time to explore the town or enjoy the outdoor pool complex at your hotel.   Dinner and overnight in your spa hotel.

Monday, June 17 – VENICE

Venice, built on 717 islands with 150 canals and 400 bridges, invites idleness and strolling. Visit the Piazza San Marco for pictures of the magnificent St. Mark’s Cathedral and the rose-colored Doge’s Palace. A kaleidoscope of activity beckons as you meander over bridges and along the narrow streets. Perhaps hire a gondola for a memorable ride under the Bridge of Sighs. Return to your spa town for dinner, an evening concert and overnight.

Tuesday, June 18 – CROATIA

Today’s journey takes you eastward through northern Italy and then south into the Istrian Peninsula of Croatia. Once part of the Hapsburg Empire, Croatia was absorbed into socialist Yugoslavia after World War II. The country declared independence in 1991 and became a member of the European Union in 2013. Arrive in Poreč, a seaside town fast becoming a favorite resort destination. Tonight’s dinner is accompanied by folkloric entertainment. Overnight in Poreč.

Wednesday, June 19 – ISTRIAN PENINSULA

Morning visit to a cave system for a thrilling walk among the stalagmites and stalactites. This afternoon, explore the historic Roman town of Poreč. Travel to the nearby city of Pula for dinner and an evening concert. Return to Poreč for overnight.

Thursday, June 20 – ISTRIAN PENINSULA

Your morning is free to enjoy the hotel’s pools or private beach on the Adriatic Sea. Afternoon excursion to the fishing village of Rovinj. Explore the lovely port area and browse in shops filled with artisan handicrafts. Perhaps climb the narrow, cobbled streets to the church overlooking the town for a wonderful view of the Adriatic. Perform an evening concert before returning to Poreč for overnight.

Friday, June 21- WESTENDORF

The majestic Alps dominate the landscape on your journey into Austria. Arrive in Westendorf, a picturesque village in the Austrian Alps. Tonight, take part in a spirited Tirolean Folk Fest filled with song and dance indigenous to the area. Dinner and overnight in Westendorf.

Saturday, June 22 – WESTENDORF

Today is free to enjoy Westendorf – perhaps some swimming, biking or hiking. A ski lift ride provides a fantastic view of the valley. Perform an evening concert for an appreciative audience. Dinner and overnight in Westendorf.

Sunday, June 23 – RATTENBERG – GLACIER

Morning visit to the charming town of Rattenberg, noted for its handicrafts and crystal. Next, ride a cable car high into the Alps to a glacier for a spectacular panorama of ice-capped mountains and sheltered valleys. Travel to a nearby village for dinner and an evening concert. Return to Westendorf for overnight.

Monday, June 24 – SALZBURG – PASSAU

Travel to Salzburg, city of The Sound of Music and Mozart’s hometown. Your guided tour will introduce you to the rich history and numerous sights of this wonderful city. Free time to visit the birthplace of the musical genius and the imposing fortress which dominates the Salzburg landscape. Late afternoon travel to Passau, an ancient crossroads town on the German/Austrian border.  Perform an evening Friendship concert with a local school ensemble.  Dinner and overnight in Passau.

Tuesday, June 25 – DACHAU – DINKELSBÜHL

Journey north into the Bavarian region of Germany. Stop for a sobering visit at the World War II Concentration Camp at Dachau. Continue traveling to Dinkelsbühl, a beautiful town dating from 928 and surrounded by a wall and moat. Evening guided walking tour of the medieval village. Dinner and overnight in Dinkelsbühl.

Wednesday, June 26—DINKELSBÜHL

Your day is free to explore this delightful and enchanting town. Time to shop for steins, handcrafted nutcrackers and Christmas ornaments. Perform an evening concert. Dinner and overnight in Dinkelsbühl.

Thursday, June 27 – RHEINFALLS – WINTERTHUR

Morning travel into Switzerland. Stop at the beautiful Rheinfalls, one of the largest waterfalls in Europe. Time to explore the falls and enjoy the scenery before continuing to Winterthur for dinner and overnight.

Friday, June 28 – ZURICH – UNITED STATES

Transfer to Zurich Airport for return to Atlanta Airport.  Welcome Home!
